Hemp seed oil is a fantastic supplement for pregnant women; as well as adding it to your diet, you can use it on your skin all throughout pregnancy, especially if you’re finding that this is a time when your skin definitely needs a bit of extra TLC.
Pregnancy can really deplete your body of nutrients, as all your energy and resources go towards nurturing your baby. Also pregnancy hormones can wreak havoc on once perfect skin, making it more sensitive, dry or prone to itchy flare-ups.
Using hemp seed oil is a fantastic way of counteracting all of these; the EFAs in hemp seed oil support the skin’s natural cycle of regeneration and repair, providing vital building blocks for the epidermis and keeping skin soft, strong and well-hydrated. Applying hemp seed oil topically to your skin is a great way to absorb all that goodness.
Hemp seed oil consists of essential fatty acids, which includes docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are essential for brain development. DHA is essential to the health of the brain along with the retina of the eye, especially in the first year of life. Mothers who supplement with hempseed oil during pregnancy may possibly offer brain- and eye-protective benefits for the developing baby.
Hemp seed oil is safe for babies due to them being an all-natural source of various vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants. Some of these beneficial ingredients include essential omega 3-6 fatty acids, iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, vitamins B, D, and E, and protein. When it comes to nutrition, hemp oil can be highly beneficial during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

This was exactly what I needed to hear today! I am just stepping into hemp seed oil and I am already feeling great. I wish I knew about this when I was pregnant.
Hi Samantha,
Thanks for getting in touch! We used various sources for the information but found some great info here https://www.foodstandards.gov.au/code/applications/documents/A360_Final%20AR.pdf
The FDA doesn’t approve of Hemp Seed Oil that contains cannabinoids or THC which is they psychoactive part of the cannabis plant. The Hemp Seed Oil we sell is completely free of any cannabinoids or THC and only contains the goodness listed in the blog post!

I have found conflicting information about whether hemp seed oil is safe for pregnant women to consume. Can you tell me where you got your information from? The FDA does not recommend it for pregnant or breastfeeding women, so I am just trying to do as much of my own research as I can. Thank you!
